Additional Resources
Here are some good sources that will provide reliable information for you to learn more about your body and assure you can be an active participant in your healthcare!
Managed by American Association of Hip & Knee Surgeons (AAHKS)
This website will provide a great repository of information that focuses specifically on hip and knee problems. This will provide you guidance while you manage your arthritis using non-surgical and non-invasive treatments. This also provides great support while you are considering a hip or knee replacement, and afterwards, while you are recovery from joint replacement surgery.
It is a comprehensive resource that has accurate and up-to-date information for you to educate yourself!
Managed by American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS)
This website has a more broad approach, but still contains a ton of great information on all orthopedic problems that you may encounter. It provides information about what is causing the problem and how to treat it. A great place to start!
Part of the AAHKS website
A great option to learn more about exercises you can do on your own. Helpful if it is hard for you to attend formal physical therapy. While doing these exercises on your own is not as good as going to therapy, they can still provide benefits.
Patient Guide to Hip and Knee Replacement
These patient guides were put together by Dr. Bradley and represent a great source of information that has been filtered down to the most important things for you to know before, during and after surgery
Golden State Orthopedics & Spine Website
There are some instructional videos on my personal page that provide an generic overview of the steps involved with partial knee replacement, full knee replacement, hip replacement, and revision hip and knee replacement.
